With more than 100,000 wishlists lined up several days before release, today we released Expeditions: Samurai to the public; the fourth game in the critically acclaimed Expeditions series of classic turn-based RPGs.
Being an Early Access game, this initial offering includes the full first act of the game, comprising roughly 6-8 hours of the story, spread across 5 main quests and 3 side quests. This version includes nearly all features of the game, with the exclusion of a few systems that are not available until act 3. Most notably, this version of the game is already fully playable in 2-player co-op, and any savegames you make in this version will be fully compatible with future releases, so you can keep playing when we release more of the story.
Three major updates are planned during the Early Access period, one of which will add Act 2. More detailed information can be extracted from our public roadmap:
Expeditions: Samurai has been in development for 4 years. It hasn’t been a smooth process, but we’re all the more proud that we pulled through and managed to create something that not only meets, but exceeds our ambitions when we started this journey.
Our heart-felt thanks to everyone who’s stuck with us and kept checking in on our progress, and everyone who’s helped us through the turbulence we had to navigate. We can’t wait to hear what you all think of how the game is turning out!
